Tuesday

Wow.  I had three tests to finish and a bunch of homework due online by 11:59 tonight, and I finally got it done!  Not too long to spare...  But I am exhausted!!!  I can't think of anything really exciting from the day.  Just a whole bunch of homework and classes... :(  So anyway, goodnight!

1/30/12

I am so tired!!!  I know it's my own fault, but that doesn't make me feel any less tired. =P  I got up at 5:30 this morning to finish the homework I had for Hebrew, then I actually made it to the prayer group at 7:00!  That made me happy. :)  Then Hebrew at 8:00, then Fitness for Life and Speech class.  This afternoon I did some door-to-door work, doing surveys, and then Hahna and I went and visited some of our contacts from last semester.  That was a lot of fun. :)

Anyway, then I just did homework.  And now I'm getting ready to help Katie with some of the Computer Concepts homework.  And then I'm off to bed.  Goodnight! :)

Sunday

Today has been quite the day!  It started before 8:00 with me getting up and working on homework.  And yes, this was after getting to bed at 2:15 this morning...  Anyway, at about 10:30 we left to go to Jordans' house.  We had so much fun!  We visited for a little while, then we played games on the Wii for awhile.  There are so many different weird and interesting games on there!  Like the one where you're a chicken trying to fly from island to island and you have to flap your arms like a bird.  That was quite humorous.  I actually did well on that one, whereas Seth didn't.  But he smoked me really bad on the soccer one...  And then there was bowling and frisbee and stuff.  It was a lot of fun!  And lunch was really good as well.

At 4:00 there was the Symphony Orchestra's concerto concert.  That was really good as well!  After that, I worked on a little bit of homework before the SALT/Nehemiah Team meeting at 6:30.  And now, after doing some more homework, I am getting ready for bed.  After I do a little more on Hebrew...  But anyway, goodnight! :)

Sabbath!

What a Sabbath this has been!  I actually got up at a decent time this morning, so I was able to answer a the emails in my inbox and stuff.  So I am all caught up on emails!  And then I took Katie, Ryan, and DeWayne to Chatt First for church.  The Collegiate Sabbath School was really packed today!  We had chairs all the way around the wall and then we had people sitting on the table in the middle of the small room.  So we're moving to the Fellowship Hall next week. :)

After church, I got a couple of sandwiches at the cafeteria, then a whole bunch of us went on a hike up to Signal Mountain.  It is SO beautiful up there!!!!!!!  I really enjoyed the hike.  Then Seth, Eric, Katie, and I rushed back to Heldzingers' place to watch Ruth.  We started that at 6:00 and Julie and Mindy came too, as well as two other girls that I didn't know...  That got done by about 8:15, then we went into Chattanooga and went bowling.  Southern had rented the bowling alley from 8:00 to 10:00, so it was free. :)  That was so much fun!!!!!!  I can't wait to do it again. :)

After that, we went over to Sonic and got some flurries, and now we're back in the dorm.  Their showing Courageous tonight for the midnight movie, so I think Eric, Seth, and I are planning on going to that.  Although I'm not positive I'll stay up for the whole thing...  I have to get up early and finish homework in the morning before going over to Jordan's house, a concert, and a SALT meeting tomorrow.  Yes, my life is CRAZY!!!!!!

Anyway, goodnight!

Happy Sabbath!

Today I didn't get any homework done...  Oh well.  That's how all my Friday's have been.  I can never concentrate enough to do any.  But it was a beautiful day!  Well, between Hebrew and Speech class this morning, I played DeWayne at racquet ball.  He beat me 15 to 8 the first game, but the second game it was 18 to 16!  So at least I gave stiffer resistance and made him work at it. =P  Anyway, then after lunch I got a couple of things accomplished, then played Ultimate Frisbee for a while.  That was so nice!  And then I had to quickly change and take a shower and get over to the church for a meeting with the pastor.  Then I went over to Joe's house for supper and a study on Daniel 10, then we had vespers at the church.  It was student missions emphasis, which was really good.

Anyway, I need to get to bed.  Tomorrow's a big day!  Goodnight! :)

1/26/12

Boy, I have two blog posts swirling around in my head that I want to post on my normal blog, but I just haven't had the time!  Maybe tomorrow...  But tonight especially, I feel like Bible Work could be more accurately called emergency response work.  Joe and I took one of his Bible study contacts to see the film Forks Over Knives (that's a great film if you haven't seen it!  I highly recommend it!).  Now, she is so ripe.  She wants to come to church this Sabbath, which is so exciting!  But she knows she needs to quit smoking, and she's out of cigarettes at the moment (has been since last night), so she was saying tonight will be a huge struggle.  She was telling me that she needs Bible verses to help her quit.  And so Joe promised to send her some promises tonight via email.  As soon as we had dropped her off, he pulled out his cell phone, called Michelle, and was asking about the 5-minute plan to victory that we had gone over in SALT.  The whole conversation had the tone of some emergency call of the FBI or something.  Michelle was going to try to scan it in and email it to Joe as soon as she had gotten home and he would email the contact as well as maybe give her a call or something.  And then we just pray!

Anyway, besides that my day went pretty well.  Homework this morning and lots of classes and choir.  Oh, and convocation was amazing!  There were two people, a woman who had been raped when she was in college and how she ended up sentencing the wrong person.  She thought she had picked the right one, but after 11 years they did DNA testing and found it was someone else.  So it was a story about how she was able to forgive him and how he was able to forgive her.  And so they both were here to tell their story.  Pretty incredible!

Anyway, now I NEED to get to bed.  I am so tired - have been all day!  So goodnight!

Wednesday

I hardly did any homework today, after the Hebrew I had to get up early to finish, which was nice.  I still have to finish up some in the morning, but oh well.  I had classes this morning, and then I did some visitation this afternoon and re-connected with some of my contacts from last semester.  Then we had the supper and prayer meeting at the church.  I watched one of Doug Bachelor's kids videos with one of the kids during the meeting.  He's one of several that are getting Bible studies right now...

Victor came by our room this evening and we hung out for awhile.  That was nice.  We haven't really been able to spend much time together since last semester...

Anyway, but now I am exhausted, so goodnight!

Tuesday

What a day!  Started with song service and Hebrew lab and just kept going crazy ever after!  At least the Presentation Technology class only went for 15 minutes today so I actually got to eat lunch at 11:30 instead of waiting until 3:30. :)  That made my day.

This afternoon/evening was spent in Hebrew homework (I still need to get up early in the morning to finish that...) and going on a couple visits/studies with Joe.  That was fun.  Anyway, it's extremely late, so goodnight!

Monday

I feel so far behind!  Oh well.  I could not sleep last night, so that was miserable.  And then Seth had to get up at 4:30 to go to work.  But I made it to the prayer group at 7:00!  So that was a good start.  And they had biscuits and gravy at breakfast, which made me really happy. :)  Then classes and homework...  At 4:00, Seth, Eric, Stefan, and I played Tennis for an hour.  That was a lot of fun.  Then we ran into Victoria who had lost her keys and couldn't get into her vehicle.  That caused about two and a half hours of delay.  But it was nice to be able to help her.  It finally ended up that Kayla's insurance would pay for a locksmith if Kayla was there with her, so that's what we did.

After that, Kayla and I worked on Hebrew homework for awhile, then I finished the section of the IDAK Career placement thing that's due tomorrow...  And now I'm off to bed!  Goodnight!

Sunday

So today I got quite a bit accomplished. I got up a little before nine and started straight into homework. I got everything done for tomorrow and started working on stuff for Tuesday. :) Then Kayla and I worked on Hebrew for an hour and a half or so. I guess it was closer to two hours, but we ate lunch somewhere in the middle of that. After that, my brain was totally fried. So DeWayne, Seth and I played racquet ball for an hour. Boy did that wear me out! So then I was jus plain exhausted. :p So I just called home and then FaceTimed Heidi for awhile, then Seth and I watched an episode of Sergeant Preston of the Yukon off of YouTube and then got ready for bed. Oh yeah, and then we listened to the latest episode of the Temptation Busters as well.

Anyway, I'm in bed now, so I will say goodnight! :)

Saturday night

It is extremely late, so this will be short.  Today was the induction weekend for the Ministerial Students, so that was really good.  Again, two more amazing sermons from Dr. Smith.

This afternoon we spent at Heldzingers' house.  We played some charades, watched videos off of YouTube and stuff, and went for a walk in the woods.  Lots of fun. :)  Then Seth and I went over to Schwarzers' house for the evening.  Seth was introduced to Road to Avonlea tonight.  We watched three of those episodes as well as one of Hyacinth Bucket.  That was kind of funny too...  British humor. lol

Anyway, and now I'm off to sleep.  So goodnight!

Happy Sabbath!

This morning started kind of early, but I finished all my homework for Hebrew before class!  It only took 8 1/2 hours...  Ugh, I don't know if I'll survive!

I didn't get much done the rest of the day.  Cleaned my room, which was really needed and went to speech class.  And then vespers at Joe's and after that vespers in the church.  Ron Smith, the Southern Union president, is here.  I really enjoyed his sermon tonight!

Anyway, I'm off to sleep, so goodnight!

Thursday

Today was spent in classes and hours of Hebrew homework.  Ugh...  Not very interesting or exciting. =P And now it is late so I need to get to bed so that I can get up early and finish my homework before 8:00!  Oh yeah, and I'm also initiating a new type of mailing list for this blog.  So if you're getting this by email, you may get two copies tonight.  We'll see how the new one works...  And if you're not getting this by email and you would like to, make sure and sign up using the form to the right!  God bless!

1/18/12

Well, as I recall, I left off on my last post all worried about the test in Hebrew this morning.  It was exactly what I expected, but thankfully I think I did fairly well.  Only missed one little point I think...

And then I had my first assessment in Fitness for Life at 11:00.  I had to run as many laps as I could around the track in 12 minutes.  I did 5 1/2, which is nearly a mile and a half.  But that was only the last part.  I got started, and 2 laps into it, my heart monitor lost my heartbeat!  So I reset it and ran another 12 minutes.  So I ran a total of 16 minutes...  Oh well.

After that, I had to run as fast as I could across campus for speech class.  I got there right on time, but thankfully the teacher wasn't there yet! :)

This afternoon I ran to Walmart briefly, then worked on Hebrew homework with Kayla for nearly three hours.  This Hebrew is going to kill me!!!!!!

Then I went to the prayer meeting at Chatt First.  The pastor talked with me afterwards for a little bit, and I am now the new Bible Worker for Chattanooga First!!! :)  I am really excited!!!  I guess Pastor Dale had told Joe at the end of last semester that if East Ridge didn't pick me up, he wanted me!  So I guess it happened.  This will keep me extremely busy, but it will be a good experience as well. :)

Anyway, after that, I went to the 9:15 joint worship in Thatcher.  Louis Torres spoke and gave his testimony.  It was really amazing!

But now I'm off to bed.  Goodnight!

Tuesday

Wow.  Quite the day.  It started with breakfast, then worship, where I led song service.  After that, I rushed over to the Religion Department for Hebrew Lab.  I was so tired and lost and confused...  I'm seriously worried about Hebrew this semester...  It's been way too long since I last did anything with it!  But at least I can still read it just fine.  A couple of the people can't really read it anymore after break, so I'm glad that didn't happen to me...  It's just knowing what I'm reading. =P

Anyway, after that, I did the homework for my class in PowerPoint.  I have to use the school's computer lab, because you have to do it on a PC.  So I used one of the labs in the science building.  It was nice, because I was able to just concentrate on homework and not get distracted with Facebook and things. =P

After that, my marathon of classes started.  Presentation Technology at 11, choir at 12, Intro to Ministry at 1, and Christian Spirituality at 2.  So I wasn't out until 3:15, then I ran over to the Campus Kitchen to eat some lunch.  I was pretty hungry.  But then I had to buckle down to homework again.  I'm telling you, it never ends!!!  And then we had a SALT meeting at 6:30 tonight, sort of planning for an ongoing training thing / accountability program for all of us graduates.  So that was really nice.  Sitting back in our old classroom brought back so many memories...  Eric said we should just sit there and cry. =P

Katie just started taking Racquet Ball as one of her classes, so she needs to get a set amount of practice in a week.  So we went over to the gym and played that for a little over a half hour.  That worked for me too, because I have to log amounts of exercise for Fitness for Life, so that was nice. :)

Anyway, I need to get to bed.  We have a test in Hebrew in the morning.  It will have the alphabet on it, as well as one of the two paradigms we had to memorize.  Plus a general review of Hebrew 1.  So yeah, I'm really stressed out about it!!!  So goodnight!

1/16/12

I am so happy!!!  I got to do door-to-door work today!!!  It was community service day, and I joined the GYC South-east Group.  We did outreach around the East Ridge Church, passing out flyers for the Forks Over Knives showing.  It was so much fun!

Anyway, then I went visiting with Joe some, introducing him to a couple of our contacts that he might be taking over.  And then we went over to Makay's Used Books.  I found several text books that are for later semesters for a really good deal!

And then Kayla and I studied some Hebrew Vocab.  Ugh, I'm not looking forward to this class!!!

But I'm off to bed now.  Goodnight!

Sunday

So today was kind of random.  I woke up at about 9:15 this morning, but we didn't get up until nearly 10:00. =P  It sure felt good to sleep, though. :)  Anyway, we went to breakfast, then came back to the room and worked on homework.  I got the section of the IDAK Career Match test done that's due on Tuesday.  Then a whole bunch of us went and watched Courageous again.  Since it comes out on DVD Tuesday, this was the last opportunity we'd have to watch it in the discount theater.  So Eric, Katie, Annalisa, Seth, DeWayne, Amir, Stefan, LisaMarie, and I all went to see it at 1:20.  It was the first time for Annalisa, Seth, and Amir...  Anyway, it was SO good!!!  I liked it even better the second time around!  The movie just does not have a Sherwood feel to it, but it is still so incredible!  And as of right now, it is most definitely my favorite Sherwood film.  It's constantly switching between humor and sadness.  There are times when you are laughing so hard you can hardly breathe, and then thirty seconds later you have tears rolling down your face because it's so sad!  And then it jumps the other direction again!  Yeah, anyway, definitely one of my favorites. :)

At 5:00 we went over to Heldzingers' house for a planning committee.  See, yesterday Katie, Annalisa, Seth, Eric, and I all brought a change of clothes to church, so we could go straight out to Sunset Rock.  But Heldzingers hadn't, so Stefan decided we need to plan some things ahead. =P  So we wrote down a whole bunch of things we want to do and started planning our Sabbaths and Sundays in advance. :)  Next week we're going to go on a picnic to Lookout Mountain if it's good weather, otherwise we'll just hang out at Heldzingers' and play games.  And then in the evening is the welcome back party for Southern, so we decided we'd go to that.  We even created a group on Facebook so we can keep up with all of this. =P  And we'll elect officers later.  Yep, we're an official club. lol

Anyway, Seth and I played tennis for nearly an hour this evening as well.  That was cold, but fun.  And now I'm getting ready to go to bed somewhat early!  So goodnight! :)

1/14/12

First Sabbath back at Southern!  So happy. :)  I took Eric, Katie, and Seth to East Ridge today for church. The service went well.  And there was potluck. :)  After that, we drove up to Lookout Mountain and went hiking.  We probably walked at least 4 miles on trails.  That was fun.  Then we got back here to Collegedale and went to Heldzingers' house for the evening.  We had some food, then played Quelf.  That game is so random...  Anyway, after that, people just went back and forth showing different videos and stuff.  So all in all it was a great evening. :)  We left there about midnight and now I'm getting ready for bed.  Have a great night!

Friday, January 13, 2012

Happy Sabbath!

Today was pretty good.  I had my first Hebrew class for this semester at 8:00.  Boy do I need to do some catch up study!  Then I finished up some homework and stuff before my speech class at 12:00.  That was kind of fun.  We had to give an introduction speech about another class mate.  Mine was a girl named Keirsta Mackey.  Yesterday we spent awhile visiting and figuring out what we would say about each other. =P  It's kind of neat, because she's Norma Youngberg's great-granddaughter.

This afternoon Seth and I played Ultimate Frisbee for a couple of hours.  That was a lot of fun!  Really nice to get back out and get some exercise. :)  Then we had a little SALT reunion/vespers at Joe's house.  That was really nice.  So nearly all of SALT that is still around was there!  It was the first time I had gotten to see Matt since we've been back.  And Joe also invited some people, so we had 28 there. :)

Then of course we had vespers that we had to attend at the school.  It was communion, which was really nice.  Except the water for foot washing was COLD!!!  A basin had been put under every chair (the service was in the gym) and by the time for foot washing, it was really cold.  But oh well.

Anyway, I'm now off to bed.  So goodnight and happy Sabbath!

Thursday

So today went well.  Song service actually was possible, and then I had classes and stuff.  I haven't made it through one of Dr. Samaan's classes yet without nearly crying.  I love his class!  Anyway, and I had my audition for the choir this afternoon, and I'm in!!!  I am so happy. :)

Anyway, I'm off to bed now.  Goodnight!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

1/11/12

So today was pretty good.  Went to the prayer group at 7:00, then went to breakfast.  Hebrew class was supposed to be at 8:00, but we found out when we got up there that it was canceled due to Dr. Klingbeil being sick.  So that was kind of frustrating.  Starting the semester of Hebrew late. :(  Oh well.  So I was free until 11:00, when I had my first Fitness for Life class.  And then there was Intro to Public Speaking.  And I am SO happy!  I know at least one person in every single class I'm taking!  That makes things SO much easier!

Anyway, this afternoon I faced my fears.  DeWayne drug me into the gym and we lifted weights and things for over an hour.  Yeah, a place I promised myself I would never go.  Oh well.  It wasn't so bad.

Then we had the Daniel study tonight.  There was a special guest speaker from the Idaho Conference and he talked about Daniel 11 for 3 hours.  Boy was it interesting!  This is the first time I've actually heard that prophecy explained in a way that actually made sense!  Everyone always avoids that chapter because no one has any idea what it means!  But he showed how Islam fits so perfectly into this prophecy.  So anyway, that was really good.

Now I'm off to sleep!  Hope you all have a great night!

Tuesday

Wow, this morning was quite a mess!  My phone for some reason thought we were on Central time, so I didn't wake up until 7:30 when I was supposed to be up front leading song service!  Since I'm sick and hadn't eaten, I couldn't even talk, let alone sing!  So I was very thankful to find DeWayne up there at worship, so I whispered to him my predicament and he was able to introduce the song and then sing.  I just kind of mouthed the words. =P

Anyway, the rest of the day went well.  I was very happy to find that I knew people in each of my classes!  So that was very comforting. :)  And now I'm off to sleep again!  Hope to wake up in time to go the prayer thing in the morning...  So anyway, goodnight!

Southern!

So I'm back at Southern! I'm so excited. Got to see a bunch of friends this evening too. :) Anyway, I'm off to bed, so will write more later!
