Leap day! 2/29/12

So today only comes once in four years...  There must be something significant about that... lol  Oh well.  I can't think of anything at the moment.  Today seemed pretty normal.  Filled with homework and classes.  Speech class was fun as always.  We played pictionary for a little bit (my side lost) and we also divided into groups of four and each team had to give a speech about rock climbing to a different audience.  The teacher gave us a little slip of paper with our audience written on it.  My team had 30 6th graders who were at the meeting because they chose to come. :)

Hebrew was pretty fun too.  We had our grammar quiz, then we just worked on translations for the rest of the class period. :)  It was the beginning of Exodus 20.  Yeah, it took us long enough to figure that out. =P

This afternoon I went out with Joe and we did one Bible study, then had prayer meeting.  The pastor was at the conference office or something, so he left it up to the Bible Workers to do prayer meeting.  Pretty scary if you ask me. =P  When Joe said that right after I had led song service, one of the guys there was like "Let's pray!"  Oh well.  It went well.  The pastor's going to be gone next Wednesday too, so Joe told me I'm doing prayer meeting then.  It's not too bad, because all I'll have to do is the prayer requests and prayer at the beginning and then show the next episode of "In the Footsteps of Paul" and then talk about it afterward.

Well, that's about it.  I started on the book report that's due tomorrow, but I'll finish it in the morning.  Seth's been asleep ever since I've been here, so no telling when he went to bed.  He has to start work at midnight...  But anyway, yeah, I'm off to bed.  So goodnight! :)

Tuesday

Sarah helped me with song service again this morning.  My voice was having trouble and she said she couldn't sing either, so it made it interesting. =P  But I think she sounded fine and she thought I sounded fine, so maybe we fooled the audience too. :)

After that, Seth and I spent quite a bit of time working on the skit that we are hoping to do for the talent show.  It's a parody of "Who's on First?" by Abbott and Costello.  And I also worked on memorizing the Hebrew verb forms I have to write out tomorrow in Hebrew class.  There are only 24 I think, but still...

I had to give a speech in Presentation Technology class and then we had choir practice.  The song is really starting to sound good!  We are doing the world premier for this piece "Neither Life Nor Death" written by a former Southern student.  It has a lot of weird chords and harmonies in it, but the third movement, which we were working on today, is actually really amazing!  I can't wait until the concert when we'll have full orchestra accompaniment!

In Intro to Ministry class we finally got our IDAK tests back.  That was the career test we took...  So we started going over all the information today and will finish that on Thursday.  Then I had my midterm for Christian Spirituality, which I think went really well.  After that Seth and I practiced some more, and then Katie, Anna, Seth, Eric, and I all went downtown to IHOP because it's national pancake day and they had free pancakes to celebrate!  So those were really good. :)

I then did some door-to-door work before attempting to do a couple of studies, but it didn't work out for the studies so they are rescheduled...  Oh well.

Seth and I had the audition for the talent show tonight.  I don't know how well it went...  I think the judges thought it went better than we thought it went, so we'll see...  And then Eric came into our room and we planned out food and stuff for the backpacking trip we're taking this weekend.  I cannot wait for that!!!  We leave Friday and don't come back until Tuesday!  So yeah, very exciting. :)  Then I just have to work the rest of next week and maybe get ahead on some of the assignments...  Hmm.  Definitely sleep.  And do something epic with the friends that are stuck here on campus.  Oh, and SLEEP!!!  That is something I think I've forgotten about.  But since I just reminded myself, I am thinking it's a very good idea!  So I'm off to bed.  Goodnight! :)

Monday

So today was kind of frustrating, but also productive at the same time.  This afternoon right after lunch I had to go to the church to meet with the Pastor for awhile.  Then I was hoping to get some outreach time in, but after that Seth had to use my car, then it was going into the shop to get the tires rotated and the air pressure checked and stuff.  It's so wonderful having a friend that can work on your car during their auto mechanics lab time. :)  But anyway, there wasn't enough time between those two to do anything, so I was stuck here.  I played tennis with Eric and Sarah Chang which was a lot of fun!  It's been so long since I played that it took me awhile to get back any skill I once had, but I was starting to do decent after we had played for an hour and a half.  Then I came back to the room and worked on some stuff before Seth went to bed at like 5:30 because he has to work at midnight.  So I went and took my car into the shop, then went to the science building and did the homework that's due in Presentation Technology class tomorrow, then went to the library and read a couple more chapters in the book that I need to have a report written on by Thursday.  After that, Seth woke up for a little bit and we spent some time working on the skit we're wanting to do for the talent show.  Auditions are tomorrow night and they are going to be weeding 44 people down to 10 - 12.  So yeah, we'll see what happens.  Oh yeah, and I found out that I got the role of John in the SonRise pageant, so that adds another thing to my plate.  Yes, I seriously think I'm crazy right about now. =P  But anyway, I'm off to bed, so goodnight! :)

Sunday

Yay!  I think I'm going to get to bed at a decent hour tonight!  I'm so happy. :)  It's before 9:00 and I'm getting ready for bed.  Today was pretty good.  Got up before 8:30, took a shower and ate breakfast, then worked on some Hebrew homework before meeting Kayla and finishing it with her.  After that, Eric and I went and took our computer concepts test then I did some more homework before leaving for outreach.  I did one Bible study which went well.  Then I ate dinner with Eric, Katie, and Anna before continuing reading in a book that I have to have a report written on by Thursday.  And now I am off to bed!  So goodnight! :)

Sabbath

Wow, long day!  Church, lunch at the caf, walk on the greenway, games at Heldzingers', Taco Bell run with friends, then watching Seven Days in Utopia which was the midnight movie tonight.  All I can say about that is wow.  It is SO incredible!  Definitely a new favorite!!!

Anyway, I am exhausted, so goodnight! :)

Happy Sabbath!

Boy, I cannot believe that it is Sabbath again already, but I am very thankful!  I'll be even more thankful after Sabbath School is over...  But yeah, I've been sick for a whole week now and am really hoping that I get well soon.

On a different note, today went pretty well.  Our speech teacher's daughter is sick, so we didn't have speech class today.  So I worked on Sabbath School and played dare base, capture the flag, and freeze tag with a bunch of friends this afternoon.  Then we had our study at Joe's and vespers.  And now I am off to bed at a decent time!  So goodnight!

Thursday night

Boy am I tired!  And have such a headache!  So I am off to bed.  Today went OK.  It was wonderful weather!  Made it up to 77 degrees!  I've been doing homework and studying for the vocal quiz in the morning and gave a great Bible study on the Great Controversy.  But right now all I can think about is bed, so goodnight!
